starting at point c
As a beginning post here's a couple of the things I saved from last summers Sleeper Lakes Fire. I've many links and points of connection that made it fasinating to follow the fire story from afar and then see and smell the edges of it. Its a long story that includes a diverse population spread all over the world following the fire in a remote part of the U.P. over the internet. The firefighters from Canada, Minnesota, Michigan & elsewhere and the small town folks who treat them as heros giving them daily parades as they come back from the fight. It'd make a great made for tv movie except for the fact that no one was hurt and nothing much except an old cabin and a bunch of forest was destroyed. In a couple years the site will probably be heathier than the unburnt adjacent forest on an ecological biodiversity basis.
